Jean-Charles aka JoYsS is an actor, who shares a huge love story with dance. He is well known for his multi-artistic experience. He originally comes from the Hip-hop Culture, where the mission of every dancer is to raise your own style and respect all inspirations without taking off any nature of it.
His purpose is not to dance swing with "modern moves"... He just comes with his own experience, challenges himself and try to level up exactly like the old school dancers did by the time, like if they never stopped dancing until now. Through his numerous teaching and training courses all over the world, his famous performances like the "Drunk dance on Take Five", his winning of the 1rst place Solo Charleston at ILHC 2015 in Washington DC(...) He is today one of the most accomplished French figures on the international swing scene. Beside all of this, he has his own signature move in the video game Fortnite by Epic Game, he worked for artists like Rita Mitsuko, Mika, La Femme, or even prestigious brands like Hermès or Tommy Hilfiger. He worked also for Caravane Palace concerts and Movie clips, and was part of the cast of the Fashion Freak Show by Jean-Paul Gauthier.

Whitey's Lindy Hoppers, Harvest Moon Ball, Spirits moves, Old movies from the great African American masters are her sources of inspiration. With a background in gymnastics, classical dance and Tango, she flourished in Lindy Hop in
their rhythmic and theatrical aspects.
She's part of the Jazz troup of performance "The Old Soulz". She performs and teaches in Belgium and abroad. As a teacher, Ornella wants to share her passion by combining technique, challenge, individual expression and joy !
In the rhythmic embrace of jazz partner dance, Bao discovered not just a means of self-expression, but a therapeutic journey that shares boundless energy. After an extensive exploration into various dance forms and trying to find a continuity across many disciplines, he ultimately found his way in the roots of swing dance, matching his energy to the rhythmic groove of the bebop and hard bop tunes. Drawing inspiration from all these experiences along the way, he infused the dynamism of diverse styles into their swing dance repertoire by creating a harmonious blend of movement and expression while still staying true to the essence of the authentic jazz dance.
Joris Focquaert comes from Belgium, and is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
While he has a background in physical theater (The Commedia School, Copenhagen, 2007), his road evolved towards dancing and more specifically African American Jazz dances like e.g. the Lindy Hop, and a dance we often refer to as 'Authentic' Jazz, mixed with the Charleston.
As a dance instructor, he gives his best, always seeking answers in the roots of Jazz. Learning to play the clarinet and trombone has developed his understanding of Jazz as movement.
Founder of Crazy Legs Dance School in Ghent (Belgium), the city where he honed his skills, he looks forward to seeing what’s there around the corner, curious for new projects.
The Infinite Chocolate Jar play Swing, Jazz and Blues for dancers. Inspired by the originators and innovators of the different Jazz eras, they also bring their own ideas and experiences into their arrangements. Their musical repertoire focuses on the Swing grooves of the 30s-50s, but also dares to explore other genres within the continuum of African-American and Afro Diasporic music.
But it’s not just about the music for them. Music is culture, and through music they want to inspire a culture of belonging and exchange while highlighting the diversity within both the music and the community. This is also what the name represents: Life is like an infinite jar of chocolates - and each bite comes with a sweet surprise..
Talking about surprises, you’d be dazed by the many talents in the band: The seven band members live in Berlin, but come from five different corners of the world (Belgium, Germany, Tenerife, USA, Venezuela), play at least ten different instruments and probably own twice as many. Next to being passionate musicians, they also have plenty of other skills that they put to work in- and outside of the Swing community. Which ones? Ask them yourself!
But before that, rest assured that they will bring their coolest riffs for your dancing passion and pour fire and driving rhythms into your swinging hearts!
The Band:
Anna Pacholke - Tenor Guitar
Joris Focquaert - Trombone, Vocals
Lucia Frias - Drums
Mats Hoffmann - Violin
Oliver Fuhrmann- Piano, Bandleader
Raúl Sánchez Barbosa - Trumpet
Samantha Bank - Double Bass, Vocals
The Sheiks are six musicians from Zurich and Lucerne who have allowed themselves to be intoxicated by the jazz of the early days. They swing through timeless hits and mix in their own compositions. Over 100 performances (including Thailand Tournée, Buskers Bern, Festival da Jazz St. Moritz) have shown that their music inspires audiences from young to old. This is presented with a resounding joy of playing and a pinch of Dada that makes you think the roaring 20s have only
just begun.
Here you've got someone whose love for groovy rhythms and catchy tunes runs so deep that he cannot stop sifting through jazz discographies. Who knows, maybe there's another gem by Johnny Hodges, waiting to be discovered. Or what if Illinois Jacquet outdid his best studio solos in an obscure live performance? Or maybe someone published a new remaster of a Roy Eldridge number. And of course, a DJ's musical preferences change with time, as do those of a social dancer. In that regard, DJ Ozwaldo's goal is to stay true to himself: to play that good swing that gets him moving. Blaring big bands, subtle small groups; breakneck tempi followed by playful, slower standards; a ride through the regional and historic jazz styles that once paved the way for tonight’s dancefloor. And while he currently favors those older, more vintage recordings, he never quite shies away from sprinkling in the modern artists either.
Aaron started dancing Lindy Hop in 2014, but rediscovered his passion for the wonderful world of swing dance and jazz music in 2019. His genuine interest and appreciation for the history of swing, jazz and blues eventually led him to collect new tunes, dance Lindy Hop and Blues and DJ across Europe over the years.
Being an active social dancer, Aaron uses this insight to heat up the energy on the dance floor or mellow it out with smooth and groovy tunes. Expect a stylistic variety of swing music in his set on a typical night, ranging from early vocal jazz to Big Bands to New Orleans and R&B that provides the most fun possible for a dancer's feet and soul!
Enzo started dancing in 2016. He was directly into it and danced on almost every social dance In 2019 he started DJing and in 2022 teaching Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz. In his local scene he is famous for his very groovy and rhythmical DJ Sets that will burn everyone's feet. He likes to party and be sure that there will be some surprises for a really great party! He also likes to party and be prepared for an after party to non swing music and maybe some more surprises!
